Springtime Lambs

Aren't these lambs adorable?  I'm so in love with this stamp.  You can purchase this set today at Hanna Stamps.

I didn't want all three lambs to face the same direction, so I used a mirror image stamp to create the middle lamb.  If you've never used one before, it is a stamp that is just a big piece of rubber that you stamp your image onto, then you use your newly stamped image to stamp on your card stock.  Doing this will give you a lighter image than your images stamped directly on paper.  To compensate for this, you can either stamp off your direct to paper images before stamping on your card stock or stamp your mirror image on your card stock and then go over the image outline with a fine-tipped pen. 

The ribbon on this card was dyed to match by using a couple of drops of reinker diluted with water.  Instant matching ribbon!

Special Cards for Special Friends

I just realized I've never gotten around to posting a couple of very special Hanna cards I've made for some very special friends.  So without further ado...

I created this card as a thank you to my good friends, Joy and Daisy of Eclectic Paperie.  Anyone who knows them, knows they are special people who go out of their way for others.  They provide an excellent selection of products in their online store, along with wonderful customer service.  Be sure to check them out! 

Hanna's dress is paper pieced and all the coloring is done with Prismas and gamsol.  As you can tell, Hanna has been shopping at Eclectic Paperie and has her arms loaded with lots of bags full of fun eP goodies.

This card was created for Kristi Ferro's (Hanna Stamps) birthday in January.  I had the pleasure of meeting Kristi a few weeks ago at CHA in Anaheim.  She is such a sweetheart!   

When I sat down to make her card, I wanted to do something special for her.  I decided to create a surprise party scene for her using all the Hanna's that had been released at the time. 

I started off by creating masks of all the Hanna's with Eclipse Tape and my exacto knife.  I absolutely love this reusable masking product.  I create my mask once and simply keep it on the plastic sheet along with my acrylic stamps or inside the plastic box for my Stampin' Up! sets.  My masks have all held up beautifully and so far I haven't had to replace any. 

Some of the Hanna's have paper piecing on them and I used Prismas and gamsol to color in the images.  The bling on the umbrella and Hanna's jewelry was done with Stampendous Dot Sparklers, which I got from Eclectic Paperie.

Hanna Bo Peep Sneakity Peek

This card was inspired by an ad I saw for Penny Black in one of my many magazine subscriptions.  I'm not too sure about the outcome, but I had a lot of fun making the card.

I used the Springtime stamps that will be available on Friday.  The more I use this set, the more ideas I seem to come up with.  This set will be perfect for spring, Easter and so many other occasions. 

I embossed Hanna with white embossing powder and bleached out her image.  Once the bleach was dry, I colored her with Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol.  I applied Liquid Applique to the adorable little sheep's heads to give them fluffy, wooly dos.

Live the Legend

Here's another sneak peek of the new Route 66 stamp set by Hanna Stamps that will be available for purchase on Friday, February 22nd.

Some time ago I purchased these Harley Davidson fabric stickers from a local craft store and they've been hiding away in my stash until now.  Aren't they perfect for this set? 

I paper pieced Hanna's saddlebag and pants with a scrap of Brocade Blue card stock that I had stamped with the Just Jeans background stamp inked with Night of Navy in order to pull the denim theme into my main image.

Celebrate Life

This is one of the cards we made at my last Technique Class.  It is made with the Ink, Spray & Smash technique (for more info visit TLC 155 on SplitCoastStampers). 

When I saw this technique I knew it would go perfectly with the Seaside stamp set because I could create a background that would look like water.  To create my background I used Blue Bayou and Soft Sky reinkers.  The shell is watercolored on Watercolor paper and the inside of the shell has a very thin layer of Crystal Effects to add shine.
