Singing in the Rain

I know, I've been bombarding you with Hanna cards, but I LOVE these stamps!  I've been astounded at how each Hanna set keeps getting better and better.  This set is too stinkin' adorable - it even comes with a cute little worm!

I love how these stamps are perfect for paper piecing.  For this card I paper pieced Hanna's umbrella, raincoat and rain boots.  Since these stamps are clear stamps, it is so easy to get just the perfect placement on your paper! 

I added Crystal Effects to the rain drops and puddle to give them a wet look.  The umbrella handle and words are accented with a Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen for shimmer. And to finish off the card, some lavender velvet ribbon and rhinestones!

Happy Birthday Hanna

It may not be Hanna's birthday, but she sure is celebrating someone elses!  Hanna is dressed up and ready to PARTAY in her purple glittered top carrying a delicious birthday cake.  By the time I added the birthday cake image to Hanna, this card had to be a long, tall card.  I don't often make cards like this, but I really like the dimensions.  I'm going to have to try branching out more often from the standard card size.

Meet Hanna Under the Mistletoe

I've had this ribbon in my stash for over a year (GASP!) and finally have the perfect stamps to use with it - Hanna - 'Tis the Season!   Since I decided to use Dashing Designer Series Paper, I had to dye the ribbon slightly with Creamy Caramel reinker to make the ribbon more of a vanilla color (the ribbon started out white).

I colored Hanna with Stampin' Write Markers and an AquaPainter on Watercolor paper.  I love how rich the colors are when colored in this manner!  Stylish Hanna is wearing ruby earrings (Candy Cane Stickles).

It doesn't show very well in the pictures, but there is mistletoe stamped in Real Red ink on the Real Red card stock.  For the berries on the mistletoe, I applied Liquid Pearls to give them dimension and shimmer.  There are self-adhesive decorative pearls applied around the edges of the punched scallop. 

Now, who will meet Hanna under the mistletoe?

Hanna, an Addiction

I'm addicted to Hanna Stamps!  I admit it and I'm proud of it!  I'm definitely NOT looking for a cure!  With that being said...on to the cards.

It sometime surprises me where the inspiration for a card comes from.  This card all started from the patterned paper.  When I was looking at this Heidi Grace paper from Eclectic Paperie it reminded me of wallpaper.  Thus, a card was born!

Since Hanna is obviously one hot babe, she is wearing a tan suede skirt (covered with Fun Flock) while trimming her tree.  A girl must always look good!

To add realism to this festive scene, the window panes and ornaments are covered with Crystal Effects and the tree garland is done with Liquid Pearls.

For this card I used the Heidi Grace Jolly & Bright Shimmer Flocked Words paper and cut out specific sayings.  The background paper is from the same Heidi Grace line and was the inspiration for the colors in this card.  Pictures do not do this flocked paper justice - you've got to see it in person!

I extended the tree trunk and stood Hanna on the hat box from the But I Need It set.  Once again, the stylish Hanna is dressed to the nines with a fur-studded outfit and boots.

One Sketch...Several Possibilities

I love stamping magazines!  They are a great source of inspiration  - for color, sketches or just plain CASEing.  I was flipping through the pages of PaperCrafts Holiday Cards the other morning, when I came across a card that started my mind spinning with an idea of how to CASE it using this awesome flocked paper I'd gotten from my good friends at Eclectic Paperie and Stampin' Up! stamps.

I used Heidi Grace Jolly & Bright Shimmer Flocked paper for the center panel.  I LOVE this paper!  It has such a great texture and shimmer and I find myself wanting to touch the wonderful fuzzy flocking.  To add the bling, I used A-Muse Creative candy for the small rhinestones and a large self-adhesive rhinestone I've had laying around in my stamping stash for quite some time.  I've decided it is time to stop hoarding all those beautiful goodies I can't seem to stop buying because they are taking over my stamping space.  So as painful as it is, I'm trying my best to USE them...after all, if I clear out some space I will have more room to put all the wonderful NEW goodies that keep coming out!

After creating that card, I decided I would try creating some other cards using the same layout.

I had the Holiday Harmony Designer Series Paper out on my desk from another project I've been working on and decided to use it with this layout.  This paper is so elegant and I love the colors!

I decided I needed a break from Christmas and I wanted to use Time Well Spent which is an upcoming Level 3 Hostess set from the Spring-Summer 2008 Collection.  I love the possibilities of this set and am looking forward to making some time to start creating with it.   It was a nice change to bring out the bright colors and I'm proud of myself for using the new ribbon I bought the other day (I actually didn't hoard it!  TEE!  HEE!).
